Needlework Show 2011 Results
Thank you for your interest in our 36th Annual show. We had a total of
29 stitchers enter 124 pieces this year! Congratulations to the following
award winners:
- Judges' Choice
- Contemporary Forest (Embroidery) stitched by Diane Myers
This is awarded by our judge to her favorite entry.
- Guild Choice
- Contemporary Forest (Embroidery) stitched by Diane Myers
This award is voted by our Guild Members.
- Popular Choice
- Almost Spring (Multimedia) stitched by Peverley Hormann
This award is voted by the public who visited the show.
- Joyce Merrill Award
- Butterfly Roads (Embroidery) stitched by Caren Scarbrough
This is awarded by our judge to an original design or adaptation that shows
exceptional creativity. The award is named in memory of Joyce Merrill, who
taught a great number of our educational program sessions.
- Best in Show
- Almost Spring (Multimedia) stitched by Peverley Hormann
This is awarded by our judge to the piece she felt was the best overall.
- Triathlon Prize
- Diane Myers
Stitchers who enter at least three of our categories are eligible for The
Triathlon Prize. The best score in each category is used, and the best three
of these are averaged to determine the highest score. The stitcher with the
highest average score receives this prize.
Ribbons were awarded based on a standard of excellence. Our judge, Pat Donaldson,
awarded a total of 58 ribbons:
- 19 First Place
- 13 Second Place
- 15 Third Place
- 11 Honorable Mention
We are considering dates for our next show, but we expect to have it at the Sanger Branch
of the Toledo-Lucas County Library in September 2012.
