About the Prize Awards

Ribbons are awarded based on a standard of excellence. Each year, these special prizes are awarded:

Judges' Choice
This is awarded by our judge to her favorite entry.

Guild Choice
This award is voted by our Guild Members.

Popular Choice
This award is voted by the public who visited the show.

Legacy Award
This is awarded by our judge to an original design or adaptation that shows exceptional creativity. The award is given in memory of many of our former members who are no longer with us. This was first awarded in 2004 as the Joyce Merrill Award.

First Timer Award
This is awarded by our judge to the best piece submitted by a first time entrant to our show. This was first awarded in 2013 to encourage new stitchers to enter.

Best in Show
This is awarded by our judge to the piece which shows the best workmanship.

Triathlon Award
Stitchers who enter at least three of our categories are eligible for The Triathlon Award. The best score in each category is used, and the best three of these are averaged to determine the highest score. The stitcher with the highest average score receives this award.
